This quick project was to create an online calculator for an joint promotion between the energy company npower and building supplies group Build Center. The calculations are relatively simple, but require reference to a spreadsheet in order to work out how many of each type of insulation product is required.
This calculator asks the potential customer to enter only the required information, and immediately calculates and updates the number of rolls of each type and the total cost.
Our task for this project was to create a website which would allow viewers to quickly find the information that was relevant to their needs. The site also had to score highly in search engine listings such as Google.
To ensure the best possible ranking for the site we used a CSS based layout. This improves the search engine rankings and allows us to target search keywords effectively. The site achieves first page Google rankings in relevant areas. Side benefits include ease of maintenance, accessibility and faster loading pages.
The site also features several dynamic application features, such as embedded google maps, a poll application, a bookings calendar and a simple content management system, allowing Duncan to update the site himself.

Rocksure Property is a luxury property investment business with a portfolio of properties worth around £10million.
This project involved the rewrite of large parts of a legacy site over several months to enable new functionalities and clean up the existing code and database. The site involved a complicated rule system for booking properties co-owned by individual investors, and integrated the existing investor property bookings site with a new public rentals website.

Protocol Solutions provides network security solutions to corporations worldwide.
We took the existing design and functionality of their site and converted it to a W3C standards compliant build.
This gave Protocol Solutions the advantage of being able to update the site with less effort, and also critically improved the Search Engine rankings of the site.

The Bristol Folkhouse is a long established live music venue in the heart of Bristol’s vibrant Park Street. The music manager needed a way to deal with demos sent in by bands wishing to perform. Many demos ended up ignored due to the sheer number sent in.
We worked with music manger to provide a site that would solve the problem. The site we built allows bands to register and submit demos online. The task of listening to and rating the artists is then shared between the group of promoters who use the Folkhouse.
Now the promoters and music manager can instantly see reviews and comments made by people whose judgement they trust. The site also includes a personalised Content Recommendation Engine, which automatically recommends artists to promoters.
By the intelligent application of technology we have reduced the workload of the music manager, whilst also helping him to improve standards.
